MISSION
Umoja Is Unity is a nonprofit rooted in the legacy of Kwanzaa and powered by artists and educators.
Our mission is to create positive opportunities through art and literacy for Black, Brown, and marginalized children and families.
We do this through arts-based education, cultural celebration, and intergenerational healing initiatives.
We plant seeds where the world forgot to water.
VISION
We envision a world where no one is marginalized.
The margins are erased, and a new page is written for everyone.
A world where Black, Brown, and historically excluded youth and families hold the tools to express, heal, and lead—through art, through literacy, and through the emotional power that comes from knowing yourself and being seen.
Our vision is not just equality.
It’s liberation.
Liberation through creativity.
Liberation through culture.
Liberation through collective care.
